Class meets for 3 hours from 6:00pm-9:00pm for 6 weeks beginning February 26 with a break the week of March 18th. Enrollment is capped at 5 students to maintain a close-knit, personalized atmosphere and maximum 1:1 attention.

Welcome to Jewelry
Learn the principles to design and create jewelry in silver, copper, and brass during this 6-week introductory course. Based on a longer intro to jewelry course and condensed into 6 sessions, you’ll get to experiment, try out tons of tools, and create a series of small projects to start your journey in metal.
Learn the essential skills of sawing, piercing, drilling, riveting, texturing, soldering, polishing, forming and much more to bring your designs to life.
All supplies and materials are included. Great for anyone new to making jewelry or students looking to refresh their old skills. No Prerequisite and No Homework. All necessary materials and tools are included.
Registration is capped at 5 students to maintain a personal atmosphere and maximize opportunities to ask questions. You'll practice fundamental techniques working on samples and series of small projects like those outlined below.
Examples of projects:
Textured Ring : An introductory project where you’ll learn the ancient art of forging using thick wire. Learn wire shaping using mandrels and pliers, forging techniques, and metal polishing.
Forged Earrings with French Hooks : Develop wire working skills as you create a pair of matching earrings by bending, balling up, twisting, forming, and forging sterling silver wire. Learn techniques to create editions and matching handmade earwires.
Forged and Riveted Bracelet: Create a one of a kind bracelet that curves around the wrist. Explore more advanced metal forming and shaping techniques as you create unique segments of forged wire that connect with handmade rivets into a one of a kind bracelet.
Pierced Brooch: Build your sawing and finishing skills as you explore negative and positive space in design. Saw and pierce a decorative shape, fabricate a functional pin mechanism, solder and finish a unique pin.
